The #plasticfreejuly2020 challenge is starting today

During July 2020 #vegon will take part in the #plasticfreejuly2020 iniziative.

Back in 2011 Rebecca Prince-Ruiz was working in local government with the Earth Carers waste education program in Perth. She decided to challenge her colleagues in the reduction of single-use plastics.

40 colleagues decided to join and the challenge was then called Plastic Free July. The initiative then ballooned to the extent that in 2014, over 14,000 participants were involved, including individuals, schools, community groups and businesses from 70 countries around the world. This challenge currently involves more than 250 million people around the world.

The aim of Plastic Free July is to reduce the use of single-use plastics. Nowadays this is more important than ever, considering that the health emergency caused by the Coronavirus pandemic has caused a huge increase in plastic waste.

VegON therefore invites all its followers to participate in the #plasticfreejuly2020 challenge in order to raise awareness on the subject among as many people as possible. Involve family and friends, organize events with your children or in your neighborhood, take initiatives on an individual level and share photos and videos with us.

Remember to tag #plasticfreejuly2020 and #vegon.
